| OUR MISSION
To create a safe and supportive environment for men of African descent. We focus on issues that directly affect our community: relationships, health, spirituality and economics. We encourage a relaxed social environment respectful of sexual orientation. Our goal is to enrich and empower lives. OUR VISION We envision the creation of a physical space specifically for In The Meantime. This space will become a cornerstone for learning, networking, socializing and personal growth, while providing service related programs for our community. OUR CHALLENGE We challenge ourselves to achieve a greater sense of responsibility to our ancestry, ourselves and to those who will follow. We strive to become better brothers, better sons, better fathers, better lovers, better friends, better role models and better people in the meantime and until the end of time. In the Meantime Men's Group, Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization that supports and empowers African American men. OUR PURPOSE We seek to address the psychological, spiritual and physical well-being of a community that is oftentimes isolated and excluded. Among our activities are ongoing support groups that focus on mental, physical and spiritual growth and development; HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention workshops; and a weekly discussion group that provides a safe space to discuss a variety of topics that include intimacy, relationships, race relations, homophobia, and community economics. In addition, In the Meantime sponsors several annual events that include a men's retreat, Kwanzaa celebration, King Day Celebration and a Men's Conference on Health and Wellness. |
